Liverpool to rival Arsenal for Julian Brandt pursuit

Liverpool are reportedly ready to lock horns with Arsenal over the signature of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt.

According to 90min, Arsenal and Liverpool are among several potential suitors interested in signing the 26-year-old attacker.

His contract will expire in the summer, making him available for a reasonable price. However, it is unclear if Liverpool and Arsenal are willing to make an official bid for the Germany international in the upcoming weeks.

Brandt has been in impressive form for BVB this season, contributing nine goals and five assists in all competitions.

Liverpool are in need of a player like Brandt, who would be a crucial addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad. The Reds require a midfielder who can assist in breaking down tough defences and create more opportunities for their forwards.

In addition, Brandt’s versatility is a significant advantage as he can play both as a central attacking midfielder and a winger. He would provide Liverpool with goals, creativity, and vision in the final third.

Brandt’s contract runs until 2024, Liverpool might be able to acquire him at a reasonable price next summer.

Meanwhile, the Gunners have heavily relied on Martin Odegaard for creativity this season, and he has been crucial to their current league position. However, Mikel Arteta requires additional options, and Brandt could serve as an excellent alternative to Odegaard. The German midfielder can also play on the wings, allowing Arteta to rotate his attackers with Brandt in the team.

The prospect of playing for a Premier League club in the summer could be appealing to the 26-year-old playmaker, and Arsenal would be an attractive destination. The North Londoners have a good chance of winning the Premier League title and qualifying for the Champions League.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal offer exciting possibilities for the midfielder, and it remains unclear where he will end up. However, Brandt might have a higher likelihood of starting for Liverpool than for Arsenal. Moreover, the opportunity to work with Klopp could be an alluring proposition for him.
