Luis Javier Suarez on Man United radar?
Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to sign Almeria forward Luis Javier Suarez, as they continue their search for a new centre-forward this summer.
According to Fichajes, Suarez has emerged as a potential target after a standout campaign in Spain’s Segunda División, where he netted 27 goals. The Colombian is currently valued at €25 million, and his performances have not gone unnoticed across Europe.
Striker Search Intensifies at Old Trafford
United’s pursuit of a new striker has already hit several roadblocks. Promising talent Liam Delap opted for Chelsea, and other targets have turned down approaches as the club looks to reshuffle its attacking line.

There are also growing indications that Rasmus Hojlund could be on his way out, with the club reportedly looking to secure a replacement before sanctioning his departure.
Competition and Concerns Over Suarez
While Suarez’s goal tally is impressive, there are lingering concerns about his ability to perform at the elite level, having only proven himself in Spain’s second tier. Still, Manchester United are said to be considering the 26-year-old, though they’re not alone.
Sporting CP are also eyeing Suarez as a possible replacement for Viktor Gyokeres, who appears close to sealing a big-money move to Arsenal. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese club are seriously weighing up a move for the Colombian forward.
Will United Make a Move?
Despite Manchester United’s bigger profile and stronger financial muscle compared to Sporting CP, Suarez’s lack of top-flight experience and €25 million price tag could prove to be stumbling blocks.
As the Red Devils weigh their options — including names like Ollie Watkins and Dominic Calvert-Lewin — it remains to be seen whether Suarez will be considered a genuine solution or just another name on a growing shortlist.
